Windows Mobile 6.1 is Available, got it working!

Hey all,

After three calls to Samsung Tier 3 Support, I finally heard what the problem was with the WM61 update software.

DISABLE YOUR ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE!

They don’t mention it anywhere in their instructions, but once I disabled ClamAV and Norton, I started up the Samsung ROM Update software again and sure enough, it prompted me for the two 4-digit codes, and away it went.

It took about 20 minutes to complete, I’ll post a photo later of what the BJ2 screen looks like during the update, and the first boot was a little sluggish, but overall, it seemed to work just fine.

Samsung recommends doing a factory reset of the phone once the ROM is updated, so I’m going to do that right now, and then reinstall all of my beloved applications, like Dashwire to get all of my contacts, etc., back on the phone.
