I’d like to thank the Academy

Well I’ve survived a week of being married. So far, no complaints whatsoever ;o)

There’s no way Elizabeth and I could have made it up to the wedding day without the help, love and support of a HUGE number of family and friends. And of course, everyone who starts giving public thanks worries that they’re going to forget someone’s name and make them feel left out, but here’s a little bit of what’s been through my mind lately:

Thank you:
- to our families who have sacrificed our whole lives to make us the people we are, which made us attract one another, fall in love and even desire to get married; and for the sacrifices to make our wedding day actually happen, plus the travel and jet lag!
- to our closest inner circle of friends who were our wedding party: you folks looked great, we should do this more often! Amy & Mike, you’re the only ones left ;o)
- to the Hunt family – the kids looked REALLY great, and thank you for all of your prep work getting things made/constructed/etc
- to Mini-Martha for her insomniac-ridden 23-hour work days getting decorations together, and for her table of friends who came up with the fabulous “top 10 things to do on the honeymoon” list (wink)
- to Laura and Julie, the flowers and cake were amazing; we had almost a whole tier of cake left over besides the top portion, and we’ve been snacking on that all week, and the pictures we’re seeing with the flowers look incredible!
- to Dr. Stephan for playing guitar – sounded awesome bro, thanks for blessing us with your talents
- to our crew of shutterbugs: Gil, Jorge and Ben – we’re blessed just to know you guys, let alone for your help with photography on our special day
- to Vicki and her clean-up crew, thanks for taking the load off of our much-overworked wedding party and cleaning up after the reception
- to Gustavo and his dish-pan hands for washing so many dishes the night before the wedding
- to Jill & Harv, for e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g: garage sale, van borrowing, wedding prep, etc.! wowser, there should be more people in the world like you guys
- to Billie for her never-ending list of things for Elizabeth the night before the wedding
- to the friendly staff at Nail Mart for making me look so pretty at my bachlor party
- to our friends, coworkers, bosses, ex-bosses, extended family, ministry partners, it means a lot to us that the people WE matter to could take time out of their schedules to share in the memory of the most perfect day of our lives. We wouldn’t have had such a great day without each and every one of you there.
